Our first weekend adventure has set the bar pretty high. Let’s just say that Cape Town did not disappoint. I’m so glad that we have another visit planned for later this month. One weekend wasn’t enough in such an amazing city.
I knew that I would love Cape Town, but once we touched down I felt surprisingly unprepared. I’m what they call a type “A” personality—I like to research, plan, scope out, read reviews… I’ve been so preoccupied with just getting to South Africa that planning this first weekend fell to the wayside. Rather, I just booked the #1 tour on Trip Advisor and called it a day:Apex Shark Expeditions. To be fair, Nick has been pestering me about doing this for a while and I booked in a moment of weakness. All I could think was—sh*t what did I get myself into.
Six words: AMAZING ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE!
We got into town late Friday, stayed up having drinks with Nick’s co-worker (against our better judgment), and got up at the crack of dawn for our 5:15 pick up. The time between waking up and getting on the boat was a complete haze. I’m sure I looked like a zombie (really attractive). We made our way to the shark-infested waters around Seal Island as the sun came up. It was so beautiful.
