This time however Planet Earth photos and planet earth facts include a very important new feature, the great white shark as part of The Shallow Seas episode. Amazingly this renowned animal was omitted from the Blue Planet but now gains it's rightful place and prominence in this round of Planet Earth adventures.
During the three weeks of filming we witnessed some of the most amazing predations we have ever seen as well as some jaw dropping breaches.
Simon managed to capture many of the breaches and some of the predations but we know he will be yearning to come back to capture the ultimate predation sequence which to this point has alluded all we have worked with, including myself.
If any of you out there enjoyed the Planet earth series then view some of the images on our site of us working with the crew, as well as some of the great still images we captured of many of the sequences in the show. If you want to see it and photograph it for yourself then why not feed your passion and arrange your own Planet earth vacation, Join us in the land of the flying shark at Seal Island, False bay South Africa.
The filming for the shark jumping and hunting sequence took 3 weeks to complete. Simon King, of Big Cat Diary fame and Ted Giffords combined to shoot the stunning sequences that were voted the most popular in the Planet Earth Series. During the making of this sequence Simon used a bicycle wheel rim attached to various straps secured around our vessel as a brace of support for our often wild and bumpy rides over to where the action was taking place. Each sequence shot with the Photoron camera took up to 15 minutes to download and during this time we were unable to shoot anything exciting that was happening.
