The BBC Planet Earth TV series Project

The BBC Planet Earth TV series was one of the most enjoyable and succesful projects Monique and I have ever worked on.

In previous years the BBC did not always get their timing with us right and arrived before or after things really got going, this time Simon King and Ted hit the nail on the head.

On many days during their 3 week stay with us we witnessed over 30 predatory events, many including spectacular breaches. Simon and Ted were consumate professionals, as well being enjoyable company on the boat. Planet Earth pictures and Planet Earth products will undoubtedly take the documentary watching fraternity by storm, pretty much like The Blue Planet did before.

Simon FilmingThis time however Planet Earth photos and planet earth facts include a very important new feature, the great white shark as part of The Shallow Seas episode. Amazingly this renowned animal was omitted from the Blue Planet but now gains it's rightful place and prominence in this round of Planet Earth adventures.

During the three weeks of filming we witnessed some of the most amazing predations we have ever seen as well as some jaw dropping breaches.

Simon managed to capture many of the breaches and some of the predations but we know he will be yearning to come back to capture the ultimate predation sequence which to this point has elluded all we have worked with, including myself.

If any of you out there enjoyed the Planet earth series then view some of the images on our site of us working with the crew, as well as some of the great still images we captured of many of the sequences in the show. If you want to see it and photograph it for yourself then why not feed your passion and arrange your own Planet earth vacation, Join us in the land of the flying shark at Seal Island, False bay South Africa.
